The Friendship Alliance is a group of people from organisations large and small who are passionate about working on the issues of loneliness and social isolation.
Loneliness Awareness Week is held on the first full week of August each year.
The week welcomes all organisations, thought leaders and everyone in the community to gather, discuss and better understand loneliness and the stigma it currently still carries.
Since that time we have welcomed new members, developed our guidelines, created a strategy and most recently have written to the Federal Government to request a national strategy be developed to address loneliness.
We meet quarterly by video conference and welcome new groups or individuals to join us. A small leadership group guides our work and Friends for Good is the chair of the Alliance meetings and provides administrative support.
If you would like to join us, please email us. To discuss our work please call Patricia Lauria, CEO, Friends for Good on 0414 341 985.
